Rules

1. Every new page must follow the permalink strategy.
2. No duplicate categories for the same topic.
3. Redirect old URLs when restructuring.
4. Use 301 redirects for all moved pages.
5. Avoid URL parameters for content pages.
6. Keep slugs short and descriptive.
7. Do not change published URLs without redirects.

URL Change Process

1. Map old URL to new URL.
2. Create 301 redirect in Cloudflare.
3. Update internal links.
4. Update sitemap.
5. Monitor traffic for drops.

Prohibited Patterns

• Dates in URLs
• Underscores
• Uppercase characters
• File extensions
• Query parameters for content
• Multiple category slashes
• Numbers in slugs

Audit Frequency

Review URL structure quarterly for consistency.
